Aston Villa have announced the signing of Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen from Roma on loan until the end of the season. Robin Olsen has arrived at Villa after spending the first half of the football season on loan with Sheffield United in the Championship.

“It was very easy (decision to join Villa) when I first heard about it from my agent. I decided to do whatever it takes to allow myself to switch teams. and signed with Villa,” Olsen said through the club’s website.

“It was an easy choice from receiving the first call from my agent. When you arrive at the parking lot and see the building, you can see that this is a big club.”

“I heard how good it was. but when you go inside And seeing the facilities, it’s amazing. You have everything you need to improve yourself. and do it as good as you can.”

Olsen, who will replace Emiliano Martinez, is Steven Gerrard’s fourth new player this month, after Kerr Smi. Thor, Lucas Digne and Philippe Coutinho.

Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen arrived in Birmingham this morning to undergo his medical examinations and finalise his move to Aston Villa.

Sky Sport reports the Swedish international is joining the Premier League side on loan until June. There’s also an option within the agreement that allows Villa to make the deal the permanent for €3.5 million.
